04 May 2013 - LEE SPORLE CONDUCTED A SEMINAR ON DELAY ANALYSIS

Sporle Consultancy Services in partnership with Qatar-based management company Mecton Resources, successfully conducted a seminar on Delay Analysis and Records Management on May 4, 2013 in Radisson Blue in Doha, Qatar.

Lee Sporle, SCS Managing Director, provided the seminar to a group of executives from a well-known construction company in Doha. He commented, "We continue to see solid professional development activity which has been encouraging as we work towards adding more seminars and training from existing and new customers in the future."
 


16 April 2013 - SCS SECURED CONTRACT AT THE MUSCAT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Sporle Consultancy Services will provide MEP planning assistance to one of the construction leaders in Oman.  SCS will work on the ATC Tower-Main Contract 2, part of the overall development and expansion of the Muscat International Airport.

SCS continues to deliver execellent planning services at major airports in the Middle East including Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal and Bahrain International Airport.


14 April 2013 - SCS IS NOW A MEMBER OF THE DRBF

Sporle Consultancy Services recently completed the requirements for becoming a member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the avoidance and resolution of disputes worldwide using the unique and proven Dispute Resolution Board (DRB) method. SCS joins the 600 members from 31 countries around the world in the preservation and growth of the DRB process.

 


01 April 2013 - SCS AWARDED NEW CONTRACT IN JLT DUBAI

SCS has been awarded a new contract to supply Planning and Delay Analysis services. SCS is to review / monitor project planning and review any EOT claims submitted by the Contractor. The project involves construction of a commercial and residential building in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Dubai.

03 February 2013 - SCS CONSULTANT RECEIVES CIArb CERTIFICATE

Sporle Consultancy Services consultant, Stuart Colvill, recently received the Introductory Certificate in International Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). The course provided him a basic understanding of the principles of good practice and procedure in international arbitration. This course advances him as well to apply for Associate membership in the institute.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is a not-for-profit, UK registered charity working in the public interest through an international network of branches. It has a global membership of around 12,000 individuals who have professional training in private dispute resolution.

Four team members attended the CIOB/Hill Dispute Resolution Masterclass at the The Address, Dubai Marina. David Wallace, Associate Director, stated that the team enjoyed the Masterclass and left with a better understanding of the Dispute Resolution Process in the Middle East.


16 July 2012 - CONSULTANT JOINS THE SOCIETY OF CONSTRUCTION LAW

Stuart Colvill recently received confirmation of his overseas emembership to the Society of Construction Law. Stuart joins the existing 2, 187 members of SCL UK. Since its foundation in 1983, the Society of Construction Law (UK) has worked to promote for the public benefit education, study and research in the field of construction law and related subjects (including adr, arbitration and adjudication), both in the UK and overseas. 10 July 2012 - SCS SIGNS CONTRACT WITH A MAJOR CONTRACTOR IN QATAR

Sporle Consultancy Services announced a new contract with a major contractor for a housing development in Qatar. SCS will be providing claims services and will identify solutions for resolving the claim.


20 June 2012 - NEW TENDER PLANNING WORK IN ABU DHABI

SCS was awarded a short-term contract for project planning services. The client is bidding for the airport expansion in Abu Dhabi. Thomas Kurian initiated the work and continued by David Wallace, Dale Clark and Stuart Colvill.


07 June 2012 - CONSULTANTS ATTEND INTENSIVE CLAIMS CLASS

SCS Senior Consultants Darren Jones and Thomas Kurian attended the Intensive Claims Class organized and given by Hewitt Consultancy on June 4 & 5 in Dubai. The programme provided Darren and Thomas foundation for the skills and knowledge necessary to prepare, present, respond to and manage claims in an effective and professional manner. The course was accredited by QSi and endorsed by the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES).

The two consultants received the course certificates and complimentary book– Construction Claims and responses by Andy Hewitt.

SCS Managing Director, Lee Sporle has always been giving priority to training programs for consultants to shape their skills through continuous learning.


15 May 2012 - SCS SECURES NEW CONTRACTS

Amid continuing tough business conditions, SCS has been awarded new contracts– one in Oman and two in UAE. The three existing clients, known for their remarkable projects in the region, have signed for SCS services on delay analysis and claims review and preparation for their airport, hotel and landmark projects respectively.


12 May 2012 - SCS APPOINTS NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTORS

SCS recently announced key addition to the team with the hiring of Douglas Wade and Dale Clark as Associate Directors. With deep
experience in construction industry, Mr. Wade and Mr. Clark will complement SCS’s existing team as the company continues to expand its customer base.


“Douglas and Dale bring extensive knowledge in project controls, construction management and dispute resolution, and will help SCS as we sharpen our focus on delivering long-term value to our clients,” said Lee Sporle, SCS Managing Director. “Most importantly, both Douglas and Dale possess a keen understanding of the emerging construction issues and trends.”
 

Mr. Wade has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. His wealth of knowledge of commercial management makes his input invaluable in all projects. Mr. Clark  has more than 35 years’ experience in forensic schedule analysis methodologies relating to delay and disruption claims mainly spent in US and Middle East.


10 May 2012 - SCS CONSULTANT RECEIVES ACUMEN FUSE CERTIFICATE

SCS Senior Consultant, Thomas Kurian attended a two-day course on Acumen Fuse: Metric Analysis and Visualization given by CMCS on May 7 & 8, 2012 in Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Kurian gained knowledge on Metric, Forensic and Logic analyses, Report generation, Adding and removing metrics, Customizing and creating new metrics, Fuse Schedule Cleanser and Analyzing risk inputs and exposure. He is now proficient in the use of
Acumen in addition to Primavera P3, P6 and MS Projects.


15 April 2012 - NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

David Wallace MCIArb, MAPM
David is a Delay Analyst, Forensic Planner and Project Controls Specialist with twenty years' experience in a variety of working environments, from Military Service with the Royal Navy to Heavy Engineering, Shipbuilding, Oil & Gas, Nuclear Waste and Decommissioning, Civil Engineering and Built-environment Mega-, Major, and Minor Programmes and Projects. David has spent the last six years working within the Middle East, predominantly in the UAE, but has spent 18 months in Qatar and has travelled throughout the region working on commissions in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He also has further international experience in South America and Western Europe. David is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the Association for Project Managers and a member of the Society of Construction Law.

08 April 2012 - DUBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

SCS received another contract from Al Naboodah Contracting Company to deliver planning services at the Dubai International Airport Expansion project. Earlier this year, SCS has deployed a consultant to assist in project planning.

01 December 2010 - CONTRACT & DELAY ANALYSIS WORKSHOP

Sporle Consultancy Services and Prime Consulting of Europe are to hold a one-day master workshop on construction claims and forensic delay analysis in Dubai on December 12.

The event to be held at the Dusit Thani Hotel is designed as a full day intensive course featuring workshops, case studies to enable participants to “comprehensively understand how to prepare construction claims and carry out forensic delay analyses,” said the organisers.

Speakers at the workshop include Lee Sporle, Managing Director of Sporle Consultancy Services; and N. M. Raj, Managing Partner of Prime Consulting, and the author of “Quick Guide To Construction Claims.

Delegates will be provided with laptops, planning software and will be taught the basics of the latter. Each delegate will be involved in carrying out delay analyses using recognised industry methodologies.
